"I have found the work done by Interstate Plumbing & Air Conditioning to be efficient and effective. Having agreed to the scope of work required, we established a time frame and budget. Interstate completed the work on time and within budget, and we are delighted with the results. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Interstate Plumbing & Air Conditioning and we will certainly be calling on them again as the need arises." -Greg Smith |

Russ Cartwright serves as Sustainable Energy Director, and started in the solar industry in 1978 at Reno based P & S Hardware’s solar division. Between 1978 and 1985, P & S’s solar division installed over 550 solar thermal systems in Nevada. Russ trained all solar employees and managed two crews of installers. After the 40% federal tax credit for solar thermal ended, P & S closed the solar division and Russ moved into manufacturing. He has held positions as manufacturing manager in the semi conductor industry, project engineer in the plastic injection mold industry, sustaining engineer, and manufacturing engineering manager in the data storage industry. During his 13 year manufacturing career, Russ owned and operated a solar maintenance business, maintaining a number of the systems that had been installed by P & S. In 2001, Russ re-entered the solar industry full-time working for Independent Power Corp. as the Operations Manager, and became their qualified employee for both their C-1 Plumbing and Heating and C-2G Photovoltaic contractors’ licenses. He also has his State of Nevada Department of Business and Industry Photovoltaic Installers license. In February 2009, Russ became Interstate Plumbing and Air Conditioning’s Sustainable Energy Director, assisting them in acquiring their C-2G Photovoltaic contractor’s license as the qualified employee. He is currently overseeing the Sustainable Energy Department that includes the design and installation of solar PV and thermal systems as well as energy efficiency projects for commercial buildings in northern Nevada. |
